The anonymised results of the State of the Industry Survey 2025 build on those collected last year, in the Spa Snapshot Survey and in the Spa Salary Survey completed last November.
The UK Spa Association's key mission is to grow a unified UK Spa Industry, providing support and fostering growth. We believe our survey results will support and help businesses to move forward in what are extremely challenging economic times. Credible industry data is key to the growth of our sector and we are proud to have launched this initiative last year, which is now building year on year data, to support UK Spa businesses.
The association claims to have listened to the key questions that our industry operators and suppliers fed back that they would like answers to and incorporated not only national figures and metrics but for many questions, they have split these down by regions. Salaries, for instance, can vary greatly by location and throughout the industry and on occassion similar roles are given different titles, so the survey has collected data for several spa-leader-titled job roles, in this section.
The survey looks at trends and patterns emerging with treatment timings and what treatments and experiences are being offered, introduced or in some cases removed from spa menus and also whether outside economic factors have affected the spa industry. It looks at recruitment and retention, an ongoing challenge within our industry and asks if spas are currently getting investment in terms of both training and physical renovations and upgrades and what are the current challenges in UK spas and if these are having any knock on effects.
The UK Spa Association will be focusing on some of the resulting topics in their subsequent podcasts, networking event talks and Regional Spa Operator meetings and aim to facilitate meaningful discussions which offer support and encourage positive change.
Bobby Griffiths, General Manager of the UK Spa Association, said, ’We are dedicated to supporting spas throughout the UK by delivering this, annual report and believe by providing these industry insights we can assist and empower spa leaders to make confident business decisions and create strategies which can now be based not only on their own industry metrics but the regional and national figures and metrics for the entire UK spa sector.’
The report is being released to UKSA Members & any Non-Member Spa Operators who filled in the survey. In addition, a full copy of the report may be purchased directly from the UKSA.
