Wales’ first floating sauna is set to open this month at Penarth Marina, introducing a new waterfront wellness experience for locals and visitors.
Named Sauna Flô, the floating venue will offer an electric sauna and ice bath experience moored directly on the marina. The project was founded by Welsh entrepreneur and former Team GB skier Rory Heslop, with the aim of creating a year-round destination focused on relaxation, recovery and wellbeing.
The sauna accommodates up to eight guests and will offer both communal sessions and private hire. Visitors can also access contrast therapy facilities including professional ice baths and an outdoor cold shower on the pontoon.
Guided sessions featuring breathwork, contrast therapy and mindfulness practices will also be available, including sessions delivered in Welsh. The business plans to collaborate with local wellness groups and host community-focused events throughout the year.
Located within the historic docks of Penarth, the marina has become an increasingly vibrant waterfront hub, home to independent venues including The Galley and watersports operator South Wales Paddleboarding School.
Bookings for Sauna Flô are expected to open online shortly, with sessions available from March.
