The UK Spa Association is proud to announce the implementation of the first ‘State of the Industry’ Spa Survey in recent years. The survey is the first of its kind in the industry since 2006 and will dip a toe into the trends, issues and challenges facing our industry, whilst giving a snapshot of where the industry stands right now.
As an association that truly represents the Spa industry and its members, the time is right to be more pro-active in assisting change. The UKSA believe that through collaboration and working together, as an industry, the Association can drive change and betterment for the industry as a whole.
The survey is open to any spa, whether a UKSA member or not. It is hoped that during the two-week roll-out, from June 1st – 16th, as many spas as possible will participate, to give a true picture of where the industry stands right now. The results will then be delivered in a talk at the Spa Life UK conference in June. The survey should take less than 2 minutes to complete, and all participants have the option of receiving the anonymised results and being entered into a prize drawer to win a £200 Spabreaks.com voucher.
Every business looks at KPI’s, but it is also key to be able to benchmark these findings across competitors and the industry as a whole. Are there emerging trends? Much has certainly changed in the years since the pandemic. In order to invest or make significant operational decisions, most stakeholders will require some comparative figures from across the industry. At the moment, these simply don’t exist, so by implementing an industry wide system, the UK Spa Association aim to help everyone.
Bobby Griffiths, General Manager of the UK Spa Association, said "The UK Spa Association are determined to gain momentum for the industry on key issues, which have stagnated and are not changing. In order to do this, we need to know where the industry is at this point, so we can get a true gauge. We have partnered with independant survey software company, wegather.info, in order to give full confidence to anyone filling in the survey that it is fully confidential and anonymised. This industry Snapshot is just the beginning. We will then be rolling out an ongoing monthly KPI data collection program for UKSA members".
