West Yorkshire based Titanic Spa, the UK’s first eco-spa, has been recognised as a leading eco spa location in the Marie Claire Sustainability Awards for the fourth year in a row.
This year, the spa achieved ‘Highly Commended’ in the Best Sustainable Spa category, previously winning the award in 2021 and achieving ‘Highly Commended’ in 2022 and 2023. The award solidifies Titanic Spa’s position as one of the trail blazers of sustainability in UK spa industry.
Titanic Spa is the epitome of how green initiatives and investments can lead to beautiful, practical, and sustainable projects that not only care for its guests but the planet too.
Titanic Spa’s Managing Director, Warrick Burton says “We are extremely proud to have been highly commended for our sustainability in the Marie Claire Sustainability Awards, being recognised for the fourth year running! This national acknowledgment holds huge significance, as it brings awareness on the importance of sustainability and how essential it is for our future, as well as for future generations. We at Titanic Spa hope this encourages other businesses, especially in our industry, to become more mindful on the impact they are having on the planet”.
Some of the eco-friendly attributes that Titanic Spa is proud to have is renewable energy generation, through solar photovoltaic roof panels, as well as the spa’s very own natural water source, found 100m below the spa. This was the original water source when the building was working as an Edwardian textile mill and provides fresh drinking water and bathing water for Titanic Spa’s plunge pool, salt regulated swimming pool, showers and ice experience.
