Touch for Cancer Care, a groundbreaking charity initiative from Sue Harmsworth MBE and the Standards Authority for Touch in Cancer Care (SATCC), will officially launch late February / early March 2025. This revolutionary service ensures that individuals facing cancer can access safe, supportive touch therapies from SATCC-approved professionals.
For too long, cancer patients have been turned away from spas and wellness treatments due to outdated myths and inadequate training. Touch for Cancer Care changes that.
With a trusted directory of SATCC-approved spas, salons, and therapists across the UK, Ireland, and Spain (with global expansion to follow), Touch for Cancer Care connects individuals with SATCC approved spas, wellness breaks and trained therapists offering supportive wellness experiences tailored to all stages of the cancer journey. An SATCC-approved spa, salon, or therapist guarantees specialised training to provide safe, adaptive touch treatments, ensuring that no one is denied the care and comfort they deserve. Leading venues, including ESPA Life at Corinthia and The Dorchester, have already joined the mission.
Touch for Cancer Care has also built a network of support for individuals and families affected by cancer. Under the leadership of Sue Harmsworth, a team of world-leading wellbeing experts has come together to create a dynamic community focused on conversation, learning, inspiration, research, and advice. From nutrition and physical activity to skincare and menopause support, Touch for Cancer Care ensures that individuals receive comprehensive wellbeing support at every stage of their journey.
Sue Harmsworth MBE, Founder and Chairman of SATCC and Touch for Cancer Care, says: "Wellness should be for everyone. We’re creating a safe space where individuals can press pause on cancer, reconnect with themselves, and feel human again."
