Certified B Corp disposable towel brand Scrummi has revealed new sustainability milestones as it joins the industry-wide Great British Beauty Clean Up 2026, reinforcing its mission to help professional salons reduce environmental impact through practical operational change.
Through its annual Sustainability Certificates, Scrummi provides partner salons with verified data showing the benefits of replacing traditional towel laundering with its 100% biodegradable single-use professional towels.
Across Scrummi salons during 2025, the switch delivered measurable environmental gains, including 15 million litres of water saved and 3.5 million kilograms of CO? emissions avoided. Transport-related emissions were also reduced by 48%, while thousands of staff hours previously spent on laundry were redirected into client services.
Traditional salon laundry remains a major source of water, energy and chemical consumption, with a single wash using up to 150 litres of water. By eliminating daily towel laundering, salons can significantly reduce resource use while improving operational efficiency.
Scrummi’s compostable towel solutions support hair, beauty and skin professionals by lowering water and energy consumption, reducing chemically contaminated wastewater and helping businesses progress towards wider carbon reduction goals.
The brand’s participation in the Great British Beauty Clean Up 2026, led by the British Beauty Council and its Sustainable Beauty Coalition, further highlights its commitment to supporting recycling access, waste reduction and more circular practices across the professional beauty industry.
