Working in hospitality and wellness over the festive season can be great fun as excitement builds in the weeks leading up to the big day and beyond, but there is no escaping the fact that it is high pressure, hard work and relentless.
Matthew Mackaness, Director of Rudding Park, shared a few highlights from the luxury hotel and spa resort in Harrogate: “This December we welcomed over 4,000 hotel guests and 5,000 Roof Top Spa guests who enjoyed 3,000 treatments. Oh, and then there were 700 guests who attended our carol service at Rudding Park Chapel, 300+ guests who joined us for Christmas Day lunch and more than 500 New Year’s Eve revellers. I could go on and on, but as hospitality professionals we would not have it any other way!"
With such frenetic activity throughout the party season, the new year often presents a much-needed opportunity to take some well-deserved time off. With this in mind, the team at Rudding Park thought it was a suitable time to recognise the dedication of the 3 million people working in hospitality in the UK who work tirelessly to create amazing memories for guests during the festive season.
Mackaness continued: “We created an offer of 15% discount on overnights stays and spa days, but knew we had to move fast to communicate this, so we filmed a brief video message and posted this on LinkedIn encouraging the team to share with their connections.
