On Saturday 12th April, Riverhills Health Club and Day Spa in Ipswich welcomed back the firefighters who helped save the club during a devastating blaze in June 2023, inviting them to be the very first to experience its new spa facilities.
Following an extensive £6 million redevelopment, Riverhills officially reopened its doors to members over the weekend, ahead of its full public launch on 5th May.
The 2023 fire caused significant damage to the swimming pool and wet spa areas, requiring the efforts of nearly 70 firefighters to bring it under control. As a gesture of gratitude, Riverhills invited those firefighters and their families for an exclusive preview of the completely transformed space.
Now transformed into a state-of-the-art day spa and wellness destination, the new facilities have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the club’s members.
The newly transformed spa now features a large swimming pool, along with a range of luxurious thermal experiences, some of which are unique to the area, including sauna, volcano sauna, SnowSky, steam room, and vitality pool. There are also nine spacious treatment rooms, and a tranquil sensory spa garden.
In addition to the spa, Riverhills has enhanced its fitness offering with new spin and HIIT training studios, upgraded modern changing rooms, and a newly refurbished restaurant with an outdoor terrace, creating a holistic destination for wellness, relaxation, and social connection.
