The award-winning Manor House Hotel and Spa based in Alsager has revealed the first look of its exciting and ambitious new outdoor spa expansion which opens Friday, the 18th of April 2025. The English Country-inspired spa has had a 36 square meters expansion to reveal a new Secret Garden area. The new space will provide guests with a vibrant oasis of relaxation and energy restoring wellbeing experiences.
Wet Facilities
Following the popularity of the spa’s signature swim up bar, the first of its kind in the UK, the new secret garden features a second swim-up bar, named The Bothy Bar. The new bar will provide more space for guests to enjoy a delicious hot or cold beverage, while immersed in the warm, bubbling waters. The new Hydrotherapy Pool is heated to 37°C (98.6°F), offering beautiful views of the countryside. Guests will find strategically placed jets that will gently massage muscles and boost circulation. The integrated seats will allow guests to enjoy the hydrotherapy benefits at their own pace, in a social situation.
Adding to the group element of wellness, there will also be a new Secret Garden Cold Water Plunge Pool, designed to be just the right size for several guests to enjoy the brisk plunge together. The cascading waterfall not only looks and sounds soothing but also amps up the cooling effect, perfect for a refreshing burst to balance out the warmth from other treatments.
Dry Facilities
New thermal facilities include the Finnish Sauna, named the Hot House, offering panoramic views of the Cheshire countryside. Heated to 80°C (176°F), featuring a Himalayan salt wall, this is a traditional sauna with a twist, providing a detox for guests to improve circulation and a deep, relaxing heat that melts stress away. The use of reclaimed brick for the interior walls gives the sauna a rustic and unique charm, creating a warm, earthy atmosphere.
Continuing the theme of the English County Garden, there are two magnificent Greenhouses housing indulgent relaxation spaces. The space is bathed in natural light thanks to the glass ceilings where guests can enjoy watching the clouds or star lit skies. Lush potted plants line the space, bringing nature's calm indoors and heated floors enable guests to enjoy the warmth year round.
The Secret Garden also houses a Sensory Herb Garden filled with a hand-picked selection of herbs and flowers that look gorgeous, smell delightful, and even offer a fun tactile experience. The addition of a water feature will provide gentle trickling sounds and a stunning visual display.
Hotel Manager Jessica Middleton said on the first look of the new developments, “We’ve poured our heart and soul into every aspect of this expansion to ensure that it’s not just a garden, but a complete sanctuary for our guests. From the reclaimed brick in the sauna to the sensory herbs in the garden, each detail has been carefully chosen to create a space that is as beautiful as it is restorative. Our goal is to offer a truly memorable experience, where every corner invites relaxation, rejuvenation, and a deeper connection with nature.”
