Journey has launched Spa Stays, a new capability within Journey Ecommerce that enables hotels to promote and sell overnight spa packages directly within their existing spa booking journey.
The launch reflects the growing role of spa and wellness in how guests choose where to stay, with the spa experience increasingly forming part of the reason for visiting a property rather than simply an addition to a hotel break.
Traditionally, overnight spa packages have sat within a hotel’s rooms booking journey, separate from the spa days and treatments guests may already be browsing. Spa Stays brings these experiences together, allowing guests to discover and book day and overnight spa experiences within the same ecommerce environment.
The new capability is designed to make spa breaks easier to find online, whether guests are considering a weekend retreat, a special occasion or a longer wellness-focused stay.
For hotels, the launch creates a more direct connection between spa demand and accommodation. A guest arriving on a hotel website to explore treatments or a spa day can now also discover overnight options as part of the same journey, potentially turning an initial spa enquiry into a broader stay.
Spa Stays also gives existing Journey Ecommerce Spa customers a route into rooms capability, enabling them to introduce accommodation-led packages through an established spa booking journey rather than creating a separate digital experience.
The launch forms part of Journey’s wider approach to bringing the hotel guest experience together online, rather than treating rooms, spa and other experiences as separate retail journeys.
By connecting these elements, Journey aims to make more of the hotel experience discoverable at the point guests are already showing an interest in the property’s spa and wellness offering, while giving hotels another opportunity to build value around that demand.
