Luxury hospitality and wellness expert Jeremy McCarthy has launched Leisure Alchemy, a new digital platform and weekly industry briefing focused on the evolving leisure economy and the future of guest experience.
McCarthy brings more than 30 years’ experience in luxury hospitality, wellness and resort operations, having worked with global brands including Mandarin Oriental, Four Seasons and Starwood Hotels. With an academic background in applied positive psychology, his latest venture aims to explore the intersection of human behaviour, leisure, wellbeing and commercial strategy.
Described as an ongoing conversation for hospitality and wellness leaders, Leisure Alchemy will publish weekly commentary, trend analysis and long-form essays examining the cultural and operational shifts shaping the leisure sector.
The platform launches amid growing industry focus on transformational travel, wellness tourism and experience-led hospitality, as operators increasingly look beyond traditional service models to create more meaningful guest engagement.
“Consumers are becoming more intentional about how they spend their free time,” said McCarthy. “Leisure experiences are no longer viewed simply as escape or indulgence, but as opportunities for restoration, connection and personal enrichment.”
The platform’s free weekly briefing will include curated sector news, commentary on emerging trends and monthly essays exploring topics across psychology, wellness, innovation, design and business strategy.
Content is structured around five core themes: philosophy and culture, science and psychology, business and strategy, innovation and design, and destinations and communities.
Leisure Alchemy is aimed at senior leaders across hospitality, wellness and experiential leisure, including resort operators, spa and wellness directors, consultants, developers and founders.
McCarthy added: “As technology and changing lifestyles reshape how people work and live, the leisure industry has an opportunity to rethink the role free time plays in overall wellbeing and quality of life.”
Leisure Alchemy is now available at www.leisurealchemy.com.
