Saturday 14th June, 2025 marked the fourteenth annual Global Wellness Day (GWD), inspiring a worldwide celebration of physical, mental, and emotional well-being with the slogan “One day, can change your whole life!”.
Celebrated across the globe only with complimentary activities featuring the theme #ReconnectMagenta at the heart of each event, activities ranged from children’s yoga to art and music therapy, community get-togethers to digital detox gatherings for young adults, nature hikes to yoga with Urban Park Rangers and much more.
As part of the worldwide celebrations the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge in Istanbul, which is a powerful symbol of connection—connecting two continents together, was illuminated in magenta in support of this global movement that was founded in Türkiye and has since spread across the globe. Joining Türkiye in this vibrant display, iconic landmarks around the world lit up in magenta to show their support for the message of wellness and well-being.
“The illumination of the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge in magenta, the color of Global Wellness Day, was not just a magnificent light show, but a deeply meaningful and powerful symbol of this global movement that started in Türkiye and now touches hearts around the world,” says Belgin Aksoy, Founder of Global Wellness Day. “To see landmarks like the TRX building in Malaysia, the Monumento del Sembrador in Argentina, and the Cleveland Terminal Tower in Ohio, United States, all glowing in magenta, was a beautiful reminder of how one simple idea can unite people across continents in the name of wellness and hope. In a world where we often lose ourselves in digital noise, we need more than ever to pause, hear our inner voice, breathe in the healing silence of nature, and reconnect — both with ourselves and with one another. True wellness is found in these quiet yet powerful moments: when we embrace ourselves, share presence with our loved ones, and discover profound peace in nature’s embrace.”
