Armathwaite Hall Hotel & Spa, located in the Northern Lake District, is set to launch a new wellness programme in 2026 combining animal assisted activities with spa relaxation. The initiative includes the Herdy Half Spa Day, featuring a 30 minute meet and greet with animals at the on site Wildlife Park, followed by a two course lunch and two hours of spa access.
Spa Manager Lorela Movileanu notes increasing evidence that time spent with animals can lower stress, reduce blood pressure and promote emotional calm, making the new programme well timed given rising wellness demand.
The spa will also introduce a series of workshops pairing creative and sensory activities with spa time, including Crochet & Spa, Woodland Nature Connection with forest bathing, and the Rest, Restore, Rewild programme incorporating mindfulness and animal assisted therapy.
Sessions take place in a heated yurt within the Wildlife Park, offering guests an immersive nature based environment. Conservation work remains central to Armathwaite Hall’s mission, with Wildlife Park proceeds supporting global initiatives such as SEED Madagascar’s Project Ala.
The Herdy Half Spa Day and wellness workshops launch in March 2026, priced from £115 per person.
