Sustainability
Sustainability: we have a plan
Spa Life is committed to reducing its impact on the environment by reducing the carbon footprint generated by our events.
We have calculated that our live events create an estimated 10.5 tonnes of CO2 emissions* and we aim to off-set these emissions through the purchase of carbon credits to make Spa Life the first 'Carbon Neutral' spa event in the UK, Northern Ireland or Republic of Ireland.
The wellness sector is a highly carbon-conscious audience, so our carbon credits will be funded via a combination of voluntary donations built in to the on-line ticket prices+, and Spa Life will match-fund the total of all donations raised.
All funds will be donated to our nominated carbon rebalancing expert, Gaia Together who are Gold Standard and VCS accredited in carbon offsetting for global socio-economic projects that help the environment and communities.
In addition to the carbon credits, Spa Life will continue to embrace digital technologies to eliminate the need for large-scale printed products in favour of mobile apps.
Working together to make a difference
We recognise that sustainability is not only an internal issue and to make a real difference we must work together with our supply chain and in particular, our venue partners.
We will be working closely with our host venues to ensure that venue operators have a comprehensive sustainability strategy in place, which supports the UN's Sustainability Development Goals, before agreeing any hire contracts.
We are pleased to advise that our host venue for Spa Life UK boasts a truly comprehensive Sustainability Policy and, following guidance from the Events Industry Council, is focussing its efforts in the three key areas of Operations, Community and Supply Chain.
The actions the hotel is taking are many and varied but we have highlighted below just a few of the initiatives you may witness during your visit to the Convention.
