Strickland launches Diamond Spa Consultancy

Former manager of the Aquarias Spa at Whatley Manor, Abby Strickland has launched Diamond Spa Consultancy.

Strickland has a wealth of experience in the five-star spa sector including the management of the spa at Sir Richard Branson’s private retreat, Necker Island, and the exclusive Sugar Beach Resort in St Lucia, as well as Champney’s in Surrey.

She began her career in the spa industry while living in Houston, Texas by gaining the CIDESCO qualification – the highest qualification awarded to beauty therapists on an international level.  Spotting a gap in the luxury spa sector to provide a fully structured design, development and retail training programme for spas, Strickland has launched Diamond Spa Consultancy to offer a wide range of services from the design of new spas to developing and expanding existing facilities.

Commenting on the launch, Strickland says: ‘My career has taught me how crucial a happy team is to the success of a spa. Staff training and development can be easily overlooked – a motivated and united team are the foundation of any successful offering. A great spa should create an inviting and relaxing ambiance for the guest, it should be a motivating and empowering place to work for the staff and as a business it should run like a well-oiled machine.’

Strickland will also offer a bespoke retail sales training programme which is a one-day session guaranteed to increase retail sales in any spa environment.
