New spa for Royal Hideaway Corales

New spa for Royal Hideaway Corales

A new resort on the island of Tenerife, the Royal Hideaway Corales, has opened complete with a 1,000sq m spa.

The adults-only resort complex, designed by MKV London Studio and Spanish architect Leonardo Omar, is in the shape of a boat with an interior inspired by the island’s marine corals.

Guests descend into the spa and wellness centre, which is underneath the hotel, via a lift. There are seven private treatment suites, a sauna, Turkish bath and a fitness studio as well as a hydrotherapy circuit with hydromassage, swan neck jets and waterfalls. Personal Wellness Assistants are on hand to give advice on everything from which treatments guests should choose to how they might structure high-intensity workouts.

Elsewhere in the hotel, the 121 junior suites offer free-standing bathtubs (with expansive views of the Atlantic), rainforest-style showers and premium White Company toiletries.

Maria Vafiadis, managing director of MKV Design says: “Royal Hideaway Corales is a truly unique project in so many ways, not least in its architecture and scale. Our interiors have drawn on the buildings’ architecture to achieve a purist design in the suites and spa, balanced by a diverse range of wining and dining destinations, each with their own aesthetic.”
