In the latest stage of a £1.2m phased development programme, the lower basement of the Grade II listed Grey Street Hotel in Newcastle is being transformed into a boutique beauty retreat.
All About You will be headed up by one of the North East’s most experienced beauty experts, Elaine Beattie, who has previously worked with Espa, Decléor, Molton Brown, Éstée Lauder and Aveda.
The boutique beauty retreat, which is scheduled to open in May, will comprise three treatment rooms and offer a range of treatments from the Elemis skin care range. There will also be a nail bar – using the OPI product range – a pedicure station and a make-up area on a mezzanine level.
All About You is part of the recently refurbished 49-room Grey Street Hotel, owned by Malhotra Group Plc. Decorated in a monochromatic scheme, each room has a feature wall bearing a large-scale image of a Tyneside landmark or figure, such as Earl Grey, from whom the street and hotel take their name.
Elaine Beattie says: ‘All About You is aimed at people wanting to prepare for a night on the town, unwind after a long week at work or enjoy a midweek lunchtime manicure or facial. They’ll be able to catch up with friends over a glass of fizz while our therapists soothe away the stresses and strains of their day; the perfect complement to the rest of the hotel.’
